A road trip north and the Swedish Beach

We jumped around to keep warm at the beach.


Henrik and I did some photography work this weekend. We went up north a few hours and took lots of nice portraits of people. I got to see lots of pretty places, eat yummy food, meet Ida's family and her grandparents hyper dog Tim. And, I saw a LOT of good Scandy wallpaper and curtains etc. Here is some of the fun. The actual photos we took for the job are not these, but I will post em soon.

Sweden Pt 2 and some Copenhagen on the side

The Oklahomo Trio played some shows over the last fortnight: Lund, Copenhagen and Malmo.



Smålands in Lund

They were fun shows, Copenhagen was particularly pretty. The Danes are friendly.
See Brother John's blog, he recently rode a bike from one side of Denmark to the other.

The Malmo show was at a place called Craft Club... it is literally a craft club of trendy knitters and the likes... The woman running the show was wearing a jacket like they were in Grease with CRAFT CLUB embroidered on the back, and she was fully commited to crafting it seemed. She edited together a little promo video.... lots and lots of fast cuts of sheep and different types of fabrics and needles and stuff and the chant CRAFT CLUB! It was funny watching people enjoying Henrik and Ida's music whilst systematically sticking pins in the heads of small dolls. In between the bands and poets etc the boss lady would round up audience members to come on stage and explain what they were crafting... I dont speak swedish but it was still pretty funny. Henrik translated one lady bragging that she " a cover for my DVDs out of horse hair."
Strange, but fun!


Speaking of music, this is a really cool outdoor venue! Come to Sweden and play a show here! The sound comes up through speakers under the grass! Fun!

Sweden Part 1.

I have been in Sweden for 20 days now. I have taken many photos and had many adventures ... I came via Tokyo which was lovely. Was so great to be back there! You MUST go. It is delightful. Here are some photos from my first coupla weeks in Sweden, starting with Henrik's Mums 50th Birthday which was a hoot! They converted the barn on the farm and it looked awesome. The musician was cool. He stopped during the lightning storm for fear of electricution but boy did he fire up once Gen pulled the video camera out.. ooooohh baby!Together again!

Anita's 50th birthday party! Her Orienteering friends made her cry. I don't know what they said in the speech but they had a cardboard toilet.

Alice, Alice, who the F&%" is Alice! Singing this with about 60 Swedes was pretty funny! The one man band was awesome. He really played some awesome hits.

What can I say...We got along.

Left over drinks after the big party. And my new favourite shoes from Harajuku.

Calle eating my business card? They didn't do that in Japan, or anywhere else I have ever been actually. He really did eat the whole thing? My phone number is floating around his tummy now.

A couple of weeks ago I really had to find a certain video... I had a craving, well cravings, for example... macaroons and Kikkoman Soy Sauce, ...it really is the best. This is us looking desperate on the streets walking from one video store to the next.
GOT IT!!!! WOO HOO! I bought it, so now it is mine for good. Seen it? En Underbar Dag.

John Bon tagged me a while ago to do this but I been busy... so I wonder, shall I answer these as for today, or back then, or for tomorrow when it is not raining and I am out of jammies? Hmm.. maybe just a combination... I hestitate when these things feel so finite... but hey... I need to stop thinking so much.

People who don't listen to other people aka falling on deaf ears.
Um, enough, I don't want to think about scary stuff I just got up.

I just woke up I don't want to think like that. But... people who don't listen when people need help. You know politicians, people at my little pony material shops, intolerant piggies, racists, sexist, agro, violent bullies, quiet bullies, people who lack respect.

5. Three things I'm doing right now:
Listening to the rain hit the windows in our new apartment
Feeling inarticulate
Planning my day of editing... and breakfast which must come first.

Meticulously recall lyrics from Princess Bride nearly 20 years since my first viewing with John and Lou.
Meticulously recall lyrics from Ushers Confession Pt2 record about a year since my last listen (and dance and maintain a serious hoochy papa face at the same time... which was learnt around the same time as the Princess Bride viewing... I think?)
Dream a lot.

8. Three ways to describe my personality
Um, I have had to do this before I think a few that come to mind in no particular order are curious, approachable, creative. John Anderson sent me a letter in Prague last year that was this little piece of scrap paper with over 100 adjectives to describe me and they were WAY better... Very accurate, critical and funny. I still have that lil piece of paper on my suitcase. We love John.

Brtiney (ha ha to annoy Elodie) actually you can listen to her coz chances are you already have, but if you breed, don't release her on your kiddies, it is unnecessary, if they need someone to glare at give them Debbie Gibson or something.
Someone who is trying to convince you of bad stuff (ummm, yeah pretty open term, bad stuff)

Lemonade (but it was hard to find actually and I was suprised to find SPRITE on the plane isnt known as lemonade at all, it is the Lemon Lime Drink. Even thought it is clear like ours.. anyhow...
